おはよう!

わたし は ガブリエル です。
わたし は いちねんせい です。
I am Gabriel. I am a first year college student.

As from my last post, I am now on summer vacation. Furthermore, I will have time to update the site and provide new things in the Japanese Language.

Thus far, I have covered the basic sentence structure of X は Y です。
As well I have covered teh basic time question and time telling.

So Now I will cover the basic for most asking sentences.
The structure is that of a normal statement like: わたし は いちねんせい です。
Except now we must take out いちねんせい and わたし は. Then replace the いちねんせい with なんねんせい (which is what year student).

So the question is:
なんねんせい ですか。
That is the short version of the question. A real life situation would go like so (between two people):
A: おはよう。
おはよう
おなまえ ですか。
わたし は ガブリエル です。おなまえ ですか。
わたし は イザオ です。なんねんせい ですか。
いんちねんせい です。りゅうがくせい ですか。
はい、わたし くごくじん です。アメリカじん ですか。
はい、わたし アメリカじん です。

So that is the easy way of asking a simple yes or no question. It can be applied to how much or how old or how long as well.

Finally, this is the end for today, I expect to have more tomorrow.

I'm working on finding out how  to make a new subdomain so as to make a list of vocabulary words and uses.

Finals

So as most people should know, college だいがく, have finals at the end of each semester. And this is the second to last day of my finals! YAY!
Anyways, I am giving a message to people who have been wondering where I have been the past few weeks and whether I will be coming back to post. I have an answer:
The last month or so has been the most hectic with exam marathons galore. As such, my last final is Thursday (もくようび) evening of which I will be back to posting regularly. However, I will have a break sometime soon as the new iPhone will come out and I will be traveling to France. I should be able to post while there, but setting up the internet will be difficult. I plan on continuing this blog to its fullest.

Soon I will upgrade the homepage to include a page of just the vocabulary words along with their translations and uses in sentences.
